Background
Thailand and Cambodia share a long and complex history marked by disputes over land and borders. In August 2025, the conflict reached a tragic turning point as violence escalated for the first time into the use of heavy artillery by both sides. The fighting spread across multiple provinces, forcing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians to flee their homes on both sides of the border and resulting in heartbreaking losses among soldiers and civilians alike.
Amid the suffering, continued efforts were made by international mediators—including the United States, China, and ASEAN—to seek dialogue, reduce violence, and secure a ceasefire. Throughout this period, Cambodia consistently expressed its commitment to peace by respecting and welcoming third-party observers and mediation efforts.

Tributes to Our Fallen Heroes
The brave soldiers left behind their mothers and fathers, wives and husbands, children and infants—everything they held dear—to stand on the front lines of the battlefield in the face of the attack from Thailand. They offered their flesh and blood to protect those behind them—every one of us—and to defend the sovereignty of our nation. Their sacrifice is a lifelong debt we can never repay nor forget. The families they left behind deserve our utmost respect, care, and support, at any cost.
