Cluster Munition Explosion Leaves Three Injured in Oddar Meanchey
A cluster munition explosion occurred along Road 58 at the location of Bos Thom Village, Kok Khpos Commune, Banteay Ampil District, Oddar Meanchey Province, resulting in three people sustaining both serious and minor injuries on the morning of January 29, 2026. The incident happened when employees of SN Company, who were working on an electrical network, accidentally stepped on the cluster munition. The device was an unexploded remnant of war left over from past conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand. This information was reported by Heng Ratana, Director General of CMAC.

Post-Conflict Explosion Leaves Two Injured in Preah Vihear
At 7:27 a.m. on January 6, 2026, in Mum Bei area, Preah Vihear Province, Cambodian forces were carrying out organization and orderliness arrangements at their stationed area within Cambodia’s sovereign territory. At the same time, an explosion occurred from a pile of garbage, resulting in one minor and one severe injuries to two (2) Cambodian forces who were performing their duties at the site. It is hereby informed that the injured personnels from the above-mentioned incident have already been transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Please be informed that, regarding this incident, the Cambodia–Thailand Border Coordination Working Team is currently working together on the matter. The Working teams of both countries have consulted, exchanged information, and jointly addressed the issue accordingly.

F-16 Fighter Jets Dropping 16 Bombs
From 7:31am to 8:00am, the Thai military deployed F-16 fighter jets, dropping 16 bombs, deep into Cambodian sovereign territory in Banteay Meanchey province. The Cambodian forces continue to monitor the situation closely, and stand strong, brave and remain vigilant in fulfilling their roles to protect the territorial integrity of Cambodia. We will protect our dignity with courage and unwavering resolve, at any cost, and without succumbing to coercion or intimidation in any form.

Thai military forces continue their armed aggression to invade Cambodian sovereign territory in the 5th Military Region at the area of Phnom Prek District and Sampov Loon District, Battambang province. From 6:25 am, The Thai military fired 5 shells of 155mm artillery into the area of Phnom Proek Commune and 2 shells into the area of O' Choat village, Barang Thlaek Commune, Phnom Proek District, Battambang Province. From 8:40am, the Thai military fired 5 shells of 155mm artillery into the area of Kilo 9 village, Chrey Seima Commune, Sampov Lun District, Battambang Province. According to preliminary information from local authorities, the attack has injured one civilian.
